This is quite a long story so I hope you'll bear with me. I first started using inhalants back in high school. 3 years ago I became addicted to cocaine. I had been off it for a month when I felt I needed something to take the edge off. I bought a can of lighter gas. It was wonderful. It was cheap and it turned out to be a great escape. I would see all kinds of mythical creatures and they would talk to me and I felt as though I had my own little family of butane friends. Unfortunately, in reality, I was as lonely as I've ever been, isolating myself from everyone because huffing took up all my time. My mother finally found out what was happening about 4 days ago after discovering two plastic bags filled with empty cans. It was the greatest thing that could have happened to me because now I had someone's support
that's my first tip, confide in someone, get someone to help you because if you're that into it you simply cannot stop on your own. Secondly I recommend you talk to your G.P about prescriping a low dose of ritalin. because it really helps with cravings. There is hope for you no matter how deep you are into it. I had become a tired, lifeless person with bad skin and hair, not caring for myself at all. Now I know there is hope and I can and will get better. Hang in there. There's lots of help available. I will check the blog regularly and am willing to help you and be there for you.

Thanks for sharing your story. I am so happy to hear you are getting help and getting sober! You can come to the boards for support and advice too. Actually living this and being able to reach out and help others is so incredible! I lost my fiance' back in June to computer duster. I have never used drugs, so I have no clue what it is like. Thanks for being on here and being a support to us who have lost someone and don't understand, but also to those who are struggling with these demons themselves. Best of luck to you! Kim-
