First of all, I appreciate these forums because I've found friends in communities such as this is the past -- Not for an addiction to inhaling, but other types of forums. I just can't seem to find this information ANYWHERE on the web, and I would like to ask you all my question. I'm pregnant, 23 weeks along. My other son graciously drew on my carpet while I was in another room. The best way to get ink out of a carpet (from what I've read online) is to blot it out with 90% isopropyl alcohol. So about a month ago, I sat in our place with the door closed for about an hour to 2 hours, scrubbing at that carpet with alcohol. Most of the time I was a foot away from the carpet, and for a long while, perhaps 30 minutes I was very close to the carpet, just a couple inches. I didn't even realize how strong the fumes were until I came in the next day after leaving and breathing fresh air, and the room smelled so badly of rubbing alcohol. Then today, again, I sat near another spot where he inked up the carpet (there are 3 spots) and cleaned for about an hour, maybe a little longer. This time the door was open and I stayed with my face about half a foot to a foot away from the fumes. All of a sudden I stopped when I realized this could potentially hurt my child -- it hadn't even crossed my mind!! Does anyone have an idea of the risk of inhaling alcohol during pregnancy? I plan to ask my doctor as well, but I don't have an appointment for another 2 weeks. I assume this is a strong amount to have been inhaled, correct?? I'm worried. Thanks for any help.
