You guys don't understand how relieved I feel after reading your stories. I was going crazy thinking I needed to see a psychologist or a doctors because I was crazy! I relate so much to everything you guys said... I'm at the office and take all of the washed mugs just to wash them and just smell the dish liquid soap. I am washing my hands in the bathroom every time I go for about 15minutes. As I'm driving home, I am just thinking about that second when I'm washing the dishes, or pouring pinesol into the bucket and pushing the mop in and out of the bucket vigorously so the liquid can start foaming and the scent can be overwhelming..(my mouth just watered). I also love eating ice, all day! I don't know when my obsession with all the cleaning products started but it is definitely taking over my life. I'm hoping to find a healthy replacement that can be socially acceptable because people are starting to judge me and be worried that I might drink the actual product.

I'm addicted to all sorts of inhalents. My first love was pine sol. I would swish a cloth in it in a hot foamy sink and inhale for up to a minute in and out.
Then came Windex but I always worked in places that had the industrial grade sprays. I stole bottles of that to bring home and clean until I couldn't find anything to clean. Lately it's mothballs. I started sniffing then sucking on them and eventually one broke in my mouth. That was it. I loved the smell taste and gritty feel of them in my mouth. In the past week I stopped eating them. I couldn't walk to my mailbox and back without almost passing out. I figure heart arethmyia if not worse. So I sniff only twice a day and sometimes roll one around in my mouth. However I'm also back to cleaning heavily with pine sol and windex......
Unfortunately my mouth waters just typing about it but I know I have to cut down.
I appreciate all your stories it helpsto know we are not alone at least.

Hello,
Im glad to know im not alone on this. I never thought id be the one with a serious addiction. Im 22 and a hairstylist and was raised in a great loving home. I do not feel as if i get a "high" off sniffing pinesol however i do feel like I have a clear unsafe addiction to where it is running anvm d ruining my life. It all started at work two years ago. We have a pinesol cleaning bottle with water and pinesol that we use to clean the salon and honestly it used to annoy me and i hated the scent. However this is where i was first introduced to it. Soon i began to like the smell and it made me feel accomplished and that everything was clean. So i started buying it for the house. My family lived the smell and we just started regularly using it. Then last summer i started oddly craving ice i mean i chew and chew and chew ice. I go through about 6-10 32oz cups of ice a day. Its also increased my craving for pinesol and the smell of wood. Its hard to explain my love of those smells its like it fills my whole body with an instant calmness and its soothing and arousing in a non sexual manner. When i smell pinesol its like being embraced in a warm hug. Now i carry a bottle of pinesol everywhere at home. If im shopping i go to the cleaner isle just to grab a bottle to smell while shopping. I boil it while watching tv so it can fill the air. I spray the walls surrounding my bed before i go to bed, i pour it into my laundry and even spray it in the dryer. I spray pinesol everywhere!!!! Sadly ive even poured it into my bath and was terrified because ive started having heavy thoughts of ingesting it. When i chew ice and smell pinesol i pretend im drinking it to kick my craving. This is a shameful addiction. I hate not having pinesol 24/7 at work im always cleaning with it to the point its aggrivating coworkers and im now the butt of everyones joke. My family is ashamed of me and call me a lunitic. My mom once refused to allow original pinesol in the house and she bought lemon scent pinesol and i wasnt only repulsed but i felt dirty resentful and ANGRY. I was truly having withdrawals. Im slowly trying to stop the habbit where now i only have my spray bottle and we use a diffrent brand of cleaner with a floral smell but im struggling sooooo bad. I want and NEED help. Im afraid that im hurting myself but i dont know how to stop this. Is there a rehab or counclers or anyone who could help me!? Please!!!

I did for years the brand called xtra Pine was my fave the lemon scented pinesol I do draw a bath and use lemon scented Lysol cleaner while I also spray the inside of the tub when I get in the steam speads the scent and the bath foam is the best but I went to my doc and she said I may have OCD I mix comet in with pamolive for that amonitated scent i have bottles all around the house but yea she told me I might as well smoke cigarettes because I'm killing myself slowly because the chemicals in those cleaners are toxic over time I will poison my self eventually needing oxygen tube for the rest of my life oh check ur iron to see if that's it but get urself checked out before it destroys you
