ifbattleboy - I'm glad that you've realized just how dangerous the 'pass out game' really is. Some field experts refer to it as "Suffocation roulette" as no one really knows when their last time of being alive or getting permanent neurological (brain, spinal cord, nerves) damage. As a professional pointed out, a person can get seizures, stroke ("brain attack"), which is another type of brain injury, and other consequences. Bless you for having an awareness of how dangerous and damaging "the choking game" really is.
Not everyone dies from "Suffocation roulette" either as this teen boy was found in a coma and even though he's been through rehabilitation for brain inury, he has the mind of a 7 or 8 year old kid. His twin brother talks about how heartbreaking it is to have to see his brother in that state:

ashleekai1822 - Thank you for posting. Hoping that you've gotten some outside professional help for the issues in which you're dealing including engaging in the "pass out game" and eating disorders. You really are worth being healthy and to be kind to yourself. For some resources and information regarding eating disorders: http://www.something-fishy.org To search for a licensed counselor that handles those with addiction problems (some programs offer state and/or county funding for those without health insurance): http://findtreatment.samhsa.gov/ and can click one's state of residence on the map. I'm not a doctor, but regarding the adderall, perhaps you have become physically dependent or addicted to the drug. Please realize that misusing the drug or not taking the proper dosage as prescribed can be very dangerous, and those that take too much of it may even get "amphetamine psychosis," which is extremely dangerous as a mental break from reality may occur due to the effects of the medication. This site has some information and suggestions for those wanting to stop self-harm (though Not in place of actual therapy): http://helpguide.org/mental/self_injury.htm Regarding smoking and if wanting to quit, here is a message board to browse (it is probably free to register, but please do check): http://forums.quitnet.com/community/talk/forums.jtml This site has some tips on quitting smoking: http://smokefree.gov/tools.aspx (Please be aware that even though some use the medication "chantix" but that it may have a seizure risk.) This non-profit organization may have a local 12-step group for those wanting to quit smoking - Nicotine Anonymous: http://www.nicotine-anonymous.org Please take good care of yourself and make good, healthy choices in life. You deserve it!

markbell - I am so sorry about your friend. You're absolutely right that it shouldn't be referred to as a 'game'. The term was probably thought of by the young people themselves not realizing how serious and dangerous the practice really is. You've made another great point about the danger of falling when passing out and getting an injury that way, too. My thoughts and prayers are with your friend. Hoping that he is on the mend really soon.

I joined this site because my daughter also huffs key board cleaner. She knows and now I know the severe dangers of huffing. She can have a massive heart attack, kidneys could fail, brain damage can occur and her liver can be affected. She knows all this but has continued to use it....can after can. A few weeks ago i came home and found her with 5 cans...all used. one after the other. I am afraid one day she will be found dead in her car in a parking lot of CVS
