For those readers who might be wondering what they could do to help build public awareness, I offer a suggestion.  Ask your fire stations, schools, shopping malls - anyone who has a marque/sign that is visible if they would be willing to post the following:
                  Love your child.
                  Be informed.

Let them know that March 13th is the beginning of National Inhalant & Poisons Awareness Week.  Tell them that while drug and alcohol abuse is down, inhalant abuse is up - arm yourself with the alarming statistics.  Let them know what a huge public service they will be performing.
Our local high school in Bowie,Md. was the first to come on board.  They helped perfect the wording.  Our local fire station has also embraced the idea. I hope to visit more.... And a large shopping mall in Virgina is considering posting it during down times!
Imagine if everyone reading this was to contact at least one venue - think of the incredible impact this could have! Please, give it a try - together we can make an enormous difference! Education is empowerment.
Thank you,
Janna Zuber - mother of Justin who died 6 years ago at the age of sixteen. That is when I learned about inhalant abuse.
