Thanks for sharing.  Hopefully this will serve as a lesson for people who think inhalant abuse is harmless.  Just because you may not notice the effects immediately, does not mean your body is not being effected.

Ive bin inhaling Deodrents ever since my Mum and Dad Divorce...I honestly dont no  why it is helping me at all...

But any way.

I discovered Office Cleaner Spray Duster in my Dads Pc box the other day.

Though id give it ago..It was brilliant compared to anything else ive done.

Even fills the bag up within in a second

But it scared me shittles....

At first it was just some nice little colours. Then my veins where popping out big time. I did another bag for some reason

I put my head down to my Knees. Forgetting the blood would rush there.

Next thing i new my skin was orange in my head.

I was standing up scared . It felt as if my brain was Closing it's self in. My mouth filled up with blood i thought i was going to die..

I could of sworn i spat blood out on to the door...

But nothing really happened at all...

Havent inhaled in over a month now. I talked to someone at my School...

Talking helps ALOT.

I guess talking does help even if your not the one who's doing it. I have an older sister who was doing pretty horrible stuff to get high including bagging. Shes done with the drugs and the bagging but sometimes i wonder if I haddn't of stopped her what would have happened. My friends and family are a big help, they're always there when i need to talk so it helps, and my sister and i are closer than ever.

PixieDust- Wow that's good to hear. Usually people are scared to approach their siblings or close friends with a problem because they think it will change their relationship for the worst. Great news that your sister stopped her drug abuse, but it brought you all closer together!

What advice do you have for folks who don't know what to say or how to approach a loved one?

I cought my boss huffing air duster about 3 weeks ago. She was so messed up, talking really deep voice and slow. staring out into space, and most recently she is getting worse. today she was in the bathroom for 1 and 1/2 hours huffing. I could literatly hear the car spraying outside of the door. My co-worker heard her also. We finally mustered up the courage to let a surerior know about it. We were so afraid that we would come into the office and find her dead. All in all, she was dead... just breathing still. This is so scary to see with your own eyes. I just hope that it will have saved her life!

Oh, I did air freshener, it made me feel... just dizzy, robotic, and my feet felt like they were on fire, my voice just completely sounded robotic, I shoulda said "domo arigoto mr roboto" or something like that, but I never thought of it.

Anyways I don't think that I'll do that again, but I used to have air duster, but I made sure I had ventilation when I used it, and I liked to freeze stuff with the liquid...

Well now I'm back in the struggle with inhalants again, this time butane lighters and aerosol cans, my life is on the line with a knife slowly scraping away at it, and even if that line doesn't get cut in half by the knife, it ends up completely mangled and ragged.

I hear using Dust Remover to get high is the best of them all.

I've never done drugs before, ever. Not before about three months ago, when my friend introduced me to the fun of low-voices and burning blood of Dust Remover.

The first time, it was so amazing. I kept doing it again and again, saying "Get in de choppa!" trying to imitate Arnold S.

It was the first and last time. My mother found us. She didn't call anyone, no cops, no couseling, because she knew the guilt I put on myself would be more than enough.

I never did it again. It may the most wonderful thing in the world to feel, but it is a drug. It's illegal to consume it to get high, isn't it?

Don't do it. It's not cool. Period. </3

Please don't do this.  My 23 year old son died last week using computer duster.  He was found face down on the bed.  We are heart broken.  This is stupid and senseless and it will take our family a long time to heal.  I know in my heart that he didn't realize that this would kill him.  He would have never hurt us like this on purpose.   Get help or tell someone if you are addicted to this drug.   Life is too precious.

I do not understand why you people use this s..t?!?! It you wanna get h..i,get some real d...s...have you fun and then do a rehab. What is in this Duster?!? Some Am.........e like stuff?? Anyway...I had a d..g problem myself for about 10years...and now I can say I'm clean and I enjoy my life.I suppose  , many people need a thing that get they're problems away ...for a while  ...but a Air Duster? Smoke some w..d or something...the Duster is for cleaning...d....s are for ..... get away from reality f...t for a while...I had never used a s..t like that...maybe I should try it some time ...just to find out what its all about...dose it give you a f....h,k..k or a nice feeling? It sounds stupid and I can't imagine why the h.ll this stuff is sold in ANY legal shop in the USA?If it is such a big problem, then make some new Law and get it out of the range of this ill people...as I understand till now...its available to ANYONE , its cheap and it makes you die...

.........Anyway,what I wanted to say is: There are so much people with real d..g problems...and this Air Duster sounds like real s..t and I do not think that if you want a normal life, you will ever try this...Why don't try some of the dogs s..t on the street...maybe there will be also some kick in it....but why?Is USA so boring that you have to kill yourselves with this s..t?....I really don't get it????

Computer duster is NOT AIR, it contains a liquefied gas.  In fact most dusters contain one of two chemicals: tetrafluoroethane (HFC-134a) or difluoroethane (HFC-152a).

To your point about dusters being legal, only when the product is abused does it pose a problem.  Let's say there was a law which banned all dusters, inhalant abusers will move on to other products.  Shall we then ban those products too?

This is why we stress education as the best tool for combating this issue.  As more parents, youth, communities know about the issue the signs/symptoms, harmful effects, etc will be more well known and openly discussed.

My fiance died June 20 from inhaling computer duster. They found him laying on top of the can. My life has been shattered. PLEASE get the word out. I don't want anyone else to ever have to deal with the pain I will forever endure. We all had NO CLUE he was doing this...such a waste. He died the day before his college graduation.

If you are doing this GET HELP. If you are thinking about doing this DON'T. It doesn't matter if it's your first or 500th time, it will kill you. Speak out, you will NOT know someone is doing this until it is too late...as we did with Jarod.

Hello. I'm Danielle. I'm 15 years old and here is my story. When I was about 12 or 13 I began hanging out with my older sister and her friends. My sister is a few years older than me. Well, my sister obviously began hanging out in the wrong crowd. She began smoking marijuana and drinking everynight. One day we went up to the mall and ran into a bunch of kids my sister new. They told us to follow them, so we did. Not really knowing what was up I questioned them on where we were going. They told me we were going to do air duster, or what others call computer cleaner. I was young and they were all older, so I was like, "aw what the heck, they're doing it, so i'll do it too." Being stupid, I followed them behind a building. I didn't really know the kids, so it was weird, but being young I felt the need to pretend like I did this stuff all the time, you know how that works I'm sure. Anyways, I watched the kids do it then it was my turn. I did it, and it was weird. I was like pretending I was walking on the moon & stuff. Super weird and stupid, I know. All of a sudden I got light-headed. I passed out. I woke-up throwing up everything I ate that day, & believe me, it wasn't pretty. But because when I woke up everyone was still passing the can around I continued to do it. I did it again, and passed out. I woke-up and my sister was passed out & I woke her up. She ended up having an "accident" when she passed out. My sister was embarrased of course and asked me for money for new jeans. So I was being nice & gave her money for new pants. She went off & left me alone with kids I didn't know so she could buy new pants. I continued to do the airduster with the kids and ended up passing out, AGAIN. I wokeup & had forgotten where my sister went. I also woke-up with a burn from one of the kids spraying my back with the airduster. From this day on I will have that horrible scar on my back because of that day. It was horrible. I was so scared to tell my mom that I researched it and began caring for it the proper way. My mom eventually found out & wasn't too happy. I also have another story. One day, I was at my cousins and he pulled out a can of airduster. Well, it was me & my 2 cousins, one older than me & one my age. We were sitting in my cousins room doing airduster and apparently I passed out & started drooling & convolsing on the floor. Doing airduster made me have a seziure and I didn't even know I had one until my cousin told me. After that I never did it again because it was scary knowing that I had a seziure. I'm not sure if it effected me, but about 7 or 8 months ago I was at my cousins helping her pack for her new place. We went outside to get some air and as we were walking inside to her house I began feeling light-headed. When we got in the door I sat on the edge of my cousins recliner chair. My cousin went into the kitchen to do the dishes when all of a sudden she heard a loud BOOM! I had passed out and started seziuring. My cousin called & called my name. I finally woke-up and opened my eyes & I could hardly see her, but I heard her kept saying, "Danielle, Danielle are you okay?" I repeatly told her I was fine, but I really wasn't. She told me I had a seziure and that she was going to call my mom. I begged & begged her not to call my mom because I knew my mom would make me go to the hospital, and man was I right. My cousin took me to the emergency room and my mom met us there. I regret doing air-duster because I think it causes me to seize and that's really scary. I still have no idea if that's why and neither do any of the doctors i've gone to. I guess doctors are stupid, but hey-listen to me when I say don't ever do it. It's really stupid and dangerous. && It's not really that fun. Just go swimming or something, it's safier.

Wow XxDani3ll3lynn! Thanks so much for sharing your story!  It's always good to hear different perspectives on the issue, especially from someone who's tried inhalants and is smart enough to know it's dangerous.  I'm sure your personal story will encourage others to not even try to do it.  I also liked your suggestions of alternatives things to do for fun like swimming.

Does your sister still do huff duster? If yes, have you talked to her about how dangerous it is, is she trying to get help?

I spent Sunday night in the ER with my son - he split his head open after using duster... This is our first experience with any substance abuse - he claims he only did it one other time. I'm worried about what I don't know - how often he's done it, what other drugs he's done, where this is headed... Should we make an appointment with a counselor? Trust that when he says he learned a huge lesson?
